Target Range: 700-1000 Lexiles.
лит-ры в сторону следующих жанров:contemporary fiction, historical fiction, science fiction, and so on.

1.Bernie Magruder & The Drive-thru Funeral Parlor , Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
2.Bernie Magruder & the parashute peril/ Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
3.The face in the Bessledorf Funeral Parlor, Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
4.Peril in the Bessledorf Parachute Factory, Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
5.Angela's Top-Secret Computer Club, Holly Keller
6.Hank the Cowdog / John R. Erickson

7.The Boggart / Susan Cooper.
8.G. Potter/Rowling
9.Moon window / by Jane Louise Curry
10.Peppermints in the parlor / Barbara Brooks Wallace.
11.The phantom tollbooth / Norton Juster
12.The real thief / Story and pictures by William Steig
13.Wulffson, Don L
14.Howard Pyle
15.The worst witch at sea / written and illustrated by Jill Murphy LEXILE 1030
Gr 3-5-Poor Mildred-she's the most inept student at Miss Cackle's Academy for Witches. Not only can she not fly properly or get a spell to work right, but the headmistress has replaced her beloved tabby with a ``proper'' black witch cat. When her class flies off for a week at the seaside, Mildred arranges to smuggle her own pet along, but where can she hide a scared kitten in a wizard's castle? There is a touch of mystery with a pirate treasure hunt, but the real fun of the story is the witch school. All of the familiar boarding school characters are here-the class bully, the tyrant teacher, the best friend-all decked out in black cloaks and pointed hats. Instead of reading and writing, the students study spell chanting, and for recreation, go broomstick water skiing. Humorous, gently eerie black-and-white drawings on almost every page add to the fun, and the large typeface will appeal to beginning chapter-book readers. A pleasant, undemanding story for fans of the previous three books and young witch fanciers.

16.The canary prince / Eric Jon Nones Gr 2-4-
- This Turinese folktale, set during the Italian Renaissance, features a lovely princess kept prisoner in a castle by her jealous stepmother. A prince observes the young woman from afar, but his love is unrequited until a witch steps in and gives her a magic book. When she turns its pages forward, the prince becomes a canary and flies to her window; when she turns its pages back, he again becomes a man.

17.Centerburg tales / written and illustrated by Robert McCloskey.

18.Jump again! : more adventures of Brer Rabbit / by Joel Chandler Harris LEXILE 1030

19.Ribbiting tales : original stories about frogs / edited by Nancy Springer LEXILE1000
Gr 3-6-These eight original stories, each by a different author, are intended as an entertaining homage to frogs. Black-and-white line drawings echo the playfulness of the stories, which are all clever and lighthearted except for one. Stephen Menick's "Polliwog" is told in the voice of a Pharaoh of Egypt who desperately wants a son and when magicians give him one, a battle of magic begins with Moses. Longer and more serious than the others, the story seems oddly out of place in the collection and the frog detail is incidental. In contrast, the opening tale by Robert J. Harris, "Old Jim Croaker Jumps over the Moon," is genuine folktale fun about a frog that believes his own bragging. Other authors include Janet Taylor Lisle, Brian Jacques, Jane Yolen, David Lubar, and Bruce Coville.
20.Gertrude Chandler Warner and the Boxcar children / written by Mary Ellen Ellsworth
21.The shadowmaker / by Ron Hansen

22.Cartoon Book /Kemsley,J
